Happy Monday! Peeking in with my Project Life 2013 Week 2! Told ya I’m kind of going back and forth trying to finish up the previous weeks. I actually had this finished at the end of that week but I wasn’t really liking it very much, so I redid it a couple weeks ago. You will see the rest of my layouts will have this sort of style to them, because of all the styles I’ve attempted this one definitely makes me smile the most!
Here’s the left side. One thing you will notice is I do use alot of “non-perfect” images in my project life. Alot of people seem to stress over what photos to use. For this project, if I have great photos I use them, but if I happen to take a shot that isn’t so clear, I will still use it if it tells the story of that day. I’d much rather have a slightly blurry photo to document that day then not document it at all (see top right photo?) Ten years from now I am not going to care that the lighting sucked or I screwed up on ISO – or didn’t have time to adjust shutter speed while trying to capture a moment – or all I had was my cell phone. I will just be glad I captured it. So take that into consideration when saving your memories =) Plus, I have a separate album for photos and I get an actual photo book printed at the end of the year. Project life – for me – is just for documenting the everyday – our everyday.
Below is the right side. You can’t really see in the photos (again, poor lighting but at least I grabbed a shot!) but Dazlynn had colored on the wall, first time! Instead of getting upset I grabbed the magic eraser and let her clean it. (That may not have been the best choice, since it made it kinda fun, but oh well) Also – because I know people will want to know – the bottom right “quote” bubble – I actually printed that on cardstock and then cut it out with my Cricut using the Don Juan cartridge. Removed some text for privacy 😉
I used a little of random scrapbook paper I had, but mainly used these cards – although now I forget which set it was I used. I know it was mainly the left side, but not sure if one of the quote cards might have come from the right pack. If anyone happens to know, feel free to let me know, lol!
The below image I printed the text and the “ten” is stickers. Also glued a stripe of twine. My brother, Ruzbeh, passed away 3 years ago and I spent some time with my girls looking through photos and telling them about him. Really felt he needed a place in our album.
And yes, I did bake our Christmas ornaments on January 7th. December was so crazy busy with just having moved across country, and the first batch I made did NOT turn out well at all, that they didn’t get made on time. But I decided I would much rather make them a couple weeks late than not make them at all. This Christmas I will be so glad to have them hanging on the tree, instead of kicking myself for not doing it.
Welp, that’s my post for today! Thanks for stopping by.
